Eco yoga

Picture
Just bought myself a really great new yoga mat. In my internet hunt for a nice new mat, I discovered that you standard mats are made from highly toxic chemicals alongside PVC, which not only give off crazy dangerous gases and residues but also take a ridiculously long time to decompose. This all seems to be on a very opposite wavelength to the soul of yoga practice, so started looking into natural alternatives. Many advertise themselves as natural but still contain PVC. Then I found a Scottish company, Eco Yoga, who use natural Jute matting and raw natural rubber. The mats will eventually decompose completely. I love the idea of using my mat to death, then chucking it on the compost heap, to return to the Earth. As you can buy a cheapo PVC mat for next to nothing on the internet now these aren't the cheapest ones you can buy, but so worth the extra money. And they also sell off their (almost perfect) seconds in a bargainous yearly sale, which is how I got one and just love it. www.EcoYoga.co.uk
