Implementation
So here are some images of the market stalls I did. There were three in total, one for a few days over two weeks in November in a community centre in a local park, one over two weekends in a weekend crafts market, and then the main one was for three and a half weeks in the city centre.
This was a typical day whilst working in the city centre market:
Exhausting!
After the first couple of days of freezing I did some Ebay shopping and bought some second hand snowboarding clothes. Then I never took them off! It was so cold, being outdoors all day long and not moving.
But I knew it was going to be hard work, but mostly it was also really fun. I was working alongside some friends I hadn't seen for more than a year whilst being away travelling, and it felt really good working for myself and not having anyone to answer to.
- 6.30 -7am wake, get Ohli up, make food
- 7.45 drive into town, crazy rush hour traffic!
- 9am arrive at nursery drop off Ohli.. drive straight down to city centre and start unloading van, set up stall, heavy work!
- 10am take my car to outskirts of town to find free parking, bus back quick before someone nicks my stuff!
- 3.30pm, rush off to pick up Ohli on bus, get friend to watch stall for an hour
- 4.30pm Return to stall for night if Ohli has babysitter, or if not pay a friend to work and take him home
- 9pm start packing up stall back into van
- 10pm set off home
- 11pm arrive home
