I have really enjoyed exploring using the permaculture design web and some of the different tools to make changes within our relationship. I feel we especially benefited from using the web of connections, as this really helped us to highlight the parts within our lives that were not supporting and being supported by the other elements. I think that this tool helped us to create the biggest changes within this project.
This has been the most personal of all of my projects up until now, and the changes that we've made by going through the design process have been hugely affecting for our lives in a positive way.
As far as projects go, this one was relatively quick to write up and document. There has been a lot of conversation and processing going on to do with this subject for us for months, but it has felt quite quick and easy to document. I think that using the design web has really helped us to process our thoughts clearly.
I think perhaps on the professional development side, this project has really helped me to solidify some of the permaculture design tools in my head, and this project has been a really good practice in applying permaculture design to non physical challenges within our lives, whilst making real and practical changes. I have always thought that permaculture design gives us such useful tools that we all can use to enhance and develop every area of our lives, and it was really nice practice in trying this our with a partner. I have been able to experience how two people can come to a much greater understanding and compassion for each other by running through a simple design process, such a useful thing I'd like to share with others.
Project start and end dates: September 2014 - November 2014
